NOW IS NOT THE TIME TO MAKE FOOD MORE EXPENSIVE.
COVID-19 changed everything, and right now is not the time to increase the cost of essentials, especially food.
Extremist policies threaten the survival of California farms and ranches and raise taxes on families that result in higher food prices.
There is no doubt our resilience will see us through, but we also must remain vigilant against policies that will harm our families and make recovery that much more difficult.

OUR FUTURE
California’s future depends on:
- Protecting family farms and ranches
- Preserving local food supply
- Maintaining a sustainable environment
Let’s keep reminding our elected leaders of these needs.

Erike Hembre, Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Illinois at Chicago told NBC News that he estimates that the average household will spend about $400 more on groceries by this time next year if these price increases remain. Households that don’t garner as much income are estimated to spend $210 more on groceries.
